The Hebrew Academy of Nassau County reached a momentous milestone when, in the spring of 2001, it became accredited by the Middle States Accreditation Association. The accreditation process proved an excellent vehicle for the school's journey through self-evaluation and self-improvement. Strengths and weaknesses were identified, allowing the school to prioritize areas in need of development and formulate a course of action for continuous school enhancement. This initial process imbued our faculty, administration, parents, and students with much pride and school spirit. Three years ago we were asked to submit a Three Year Progress Report. This provided an appropriate venue for the entire school community to reflect upon our accomplishments, while reaffirming and renewing our commitment to school improvement. The HANC community was able to share in the results of that report in its October, 2004 HANCVISION newsletter. Over the course of the past three years, HANC was asked to re-examine its goals and submit a second update this past spring. This process of once again analyzing and updating each goal in the context of the Six Year Progress Report has helped us clarify and readdress some of the areas that are outlined in this report. The Board of Education, Board of Directors, and the administrative team have been on top of all of the many suggestions initially outlined, with the sole purpose of making a "good school even better." We are proud of our accomplishments over these last eight years and look forward to rising to even loftier heights. The entire school community now will have an opportunity to review the Six Year Progress Report in an abbreviated form - click here to DOWNLOAD THE MIDDLE STATES PROGRESS REPORT - HANC's VISION. |
